"We would have preferred more trips to town centres"

...Notes should include cafes and we would prefer more trips to town centres. We enjoy seeing town centres as well as forests! The notes on local history were good but could have had more and included nice towns and sites. I couldn’t believe you didn’t include the Kroller Muller museum in your trip for example. Bilderberg Hotels were good but the one we stayed at in Garderen on Saturday night was much better than the other one in Garderen...

"The hotels were all very good and comfortable"

...Thanks for the email and thank you for organising our tour. We had great weather and enjoyed the varied scenery, towns and villages along the way. The hotels were all very good and comfortable. We managed the distances and the bikes were excellent. We found everyone really friendly and helpful along the way. The luggage transfer was very efficient. We got lost a couple of times because we missed a sign post or two.  We found the numbers easy to follow on day one but ran into a problem at the end of day two coming into Ellecom so had a problem finding the hotel but resolved that. I think the LF paths were not as easy to follow as the numbered way markers. On day three we found the next way marker was not always signposted from the previous one so had to refer to the map to find intermediate numbered way points. We couldn't get the C shaped bike lock(from the saddle bag) to work - one was jammed and one didn't have a key. The only other issue we had was the tax on the hotel bill - two hotels wanted to charge us - We had to pay 5 euros at Princess Hotel in Beekbergen - they would not accept our argument that we had paid you - the hotel in Ellecom also asked for it but accepted that we had paid you in advance...

"Your personal attention was greatly appreciated"

... First thank you for your hospitality at your office, the libations and the tour information/orientation. We thought that you might be interested in some feed back. Excellent:  bikes and accessories, GPS, maps and general information. Weather:  generally good - a bit windy - and as you know, one day of rain.  Thanks for lining me up with the baggage handler - worked out great! Trip to Terschelling - really fun, very busy as it was the day of the boat (schooner?) race.  Big party! Good:  the little "things" with the numbers.  Helpful to an extent but the GPS was more useful. Hotels:  Breakfasts:  without exception excellent.  One problem - only brown eggs (just kidding). Hospitality:  a bit mixed but generally very good.  The smaller hotels were the most guest friendly. We would definitely use your company again.  Your personal attention was greatly appreciated....

"I had a great time!"

...I wish it hadn’t rained so hard on the Wednesday but that is always the risk you take with an outdoor activity like cycling. I found the routes easy to follow but did get lost briefly a couple of times (once when the path was being repaired and was blocked and the other when I missed the turn). The hotels were great and the food was of high quality. I will recommend the experience to other riders. The only suggestion I have is that it would be good to have a shorter option for each of the sectors, if possible, when the weather in a sector was really bad. Not sure how practical that would be. Again, thanks very much...

"We enjoyed our holiday very much"

...The hotels were lovely, the food was excellent, and everybody we met was very kind and friendly. As this was the first time we had done this, however, we would maybe have liked to have our hands held a bit more. The Casa 400 receptionists didn’t seem to know much, and had to be reminded that we would have a pack waiting for us. Fortunately they found it. We had thought that someone would issue us with bikes. It seemed very casual to just go and take them, but fortunately the reception also found the keys and we found bikes with our names on. Perhaps the procedure could be explained a bit more. Amsterdam was quite hard to navigate when we were not used to the signs, and we did get lost once or twice.  I am not sure what you could do about this though! We would also have welcomed a bit more description of what we were passing through, or what we could see if we decided to take different routes. As we are slower cyclists we cycled to our destination first, and then did the sight seeing once we had arrived. Many people might feel more comfortable doing it this way. It was a very enjoyable experience, the weather was mostly lovely, the scenery interesting and as I said, the people were very kind and helpful. When we got lost (signs disappearing) in the outskirts of Haarlem, two elderly people on mobility scooters insisted on showing us the way, and giving us a guided tour of the town at the same time. We had to pedal quite fast to keep up with them.  That was so kind! I hope we shall be back for another holiday, and know what we are doing this time before we get there....

"We will certainly returning in the future"

....We had a wonderful holiday with your company and will certainly be returning in the future. The bikes were good, hotels good and the places were great. We did get rather lost from Haarlem to Leiden as we could not find the numbers on a few occasions. The hotel Casa400 was however poor. Our first room was uncomfortable with uncomfortable beds, the room was too hot and unable to cool down. However apart from this we had a great time, though I think you should check the route from Haarlem to Leiden as I think a few people will get lost...

"fantastic week"

...We finished the tour and were very sorry to leave Holland after a fantastic week. Although the weather was not always good we really enjoyed the cycling, the country, the people, the accomodation and the whole experience. Thank you for organising the tour so well. And thank you Holland for this superb biking facility that you have created. We never had a problem. Before starting we were apprehensive about the distances, especially the 70 odd kilometers on the first day. We however made it with time to spare and did not have to take the train! One aspect that we hoped would have been different was our stay in Amsterdam. We wanted to experience Holland but the hotel in Amsterdam we found to be so American and in the area of the city that was more of an office park than the Amsterdam we experienced on previous trips. The other hotels were exactly what we were hoping for and enjoyed our stay at those hotels a lot....

"Very impressed by your company"

... I was (and am) very impressed by your company. From the moment that I first asked questions about options about trips, to actually making a reservation, I was impressed by your quick replies. I am happy for you to use feedback. I loved the trip and found the whole experience absolutely fabulous. My only suggestion would be to stay in Edam, not Volendam. We spent an hour in Edam on the morning before we left before returning to Volendam and then taking the ferry to Marken and the dyke to the mainland. I would happily recommend your company for your email service alone. The notes etc were all fine and we soon learnt to adapt as we went along. And finally, Holland is so flat after years of cycling on the Scottish west coast islands - that we really could not go wrong...

"We had a wonderful trip"

...We had a wonderful trip, following mainly the 5-00 Green Heart Route.: Amsterdam-Gouda-Bunnik-Amsterdam. it was really flat. We made a detour to Oss from Bunnik, and back directly in one day to Amsterdam (110km), so we did not use our hotel in Bunnik for one night. It could not be cancelled. No money back. The sun was shining and we had tail-winds all the way, both going south and coming back north. The hotels were excellent, and my son asked me “why do we have so fancy hotels?" The bikes were very good, rolling effortlessly. We had a puncture, but this was fixed within hours (in Gouda). The GPS was a disappointment. The first day we tried to follow it, but it was not of much use, slow and not changing route if we took a shortcut somewhere. We used our own phone GPS. The detailed map and the numbering system were quite useful. All in all a very nice biking tour, maybe back next year...

"Our tour was excellent"

...The directions were clear, the hotels and meals both very nice. It is amazing the the Netherlands has such a wonderful network of bike trails. Since we arrived in Amsterdam a day early, and had two extra days there at the end of the tour, we decided to skip the rather detailed wanderings through the city on the recommended route on the first day. Instead we charted our own course to Sloterdijk from the Westcort Art Hotel, an easy ride, and picked up the route to Haarlem there. You might consider offering this as an alternative to riders who want to skip the city riding. Haarlem was great, not crowded and easy to get around in. We especially liked the windmill tour. On the way home from Volendam, we followed your directions to Centraal Station, and then navigated back to the Hotel via map, which seemed easier than following the route you detailed. The bikes were good, we had only one half day of rain, and we count this as a great vacation and a terrific way to see Holland and meet the Dutch people...

"We enjoyed the variety of scenery on the routes"

…We have arrived home safely and have really enjoyed our riding in Holland again. It is a real treat to ride on joined up cycle facilities and see how difficult crossings and junctions can be designed for us to be safe. We enjoyed the variety of scenery on the routes, including the ferries. We only had one soaking, and that on top of the dyke at Milligan ferry. Wild flowers good, lanes and paths quiet, lovely forests and a fair amount of sunshine. We had trouble leaving nijmegen first day due to roadworks and new cycle ways on the east side, and again leaving on the west bridge to go to Ede for the same reason. Sometimes the garmin routes did not agree with the map and number so we had a few domestic trouble as there as one was wanting to follow the GPS and the other preferred the traditional method!! The Velorama in Nijmegen is outstandingly good and interesting…

"We look forward"

… Hotels....generally they were excellent, helpful staff, comfortable rooms and good food. We had a problem at Nunspeet where we explained to the waitress that we were on half board and also that we wished to drink tap water. On checking out the next morning we were given a bill for €17.70 for bottled water, even though it did not come in a sealed bottle. The Avogaard at Ellecom was superb. We had read some bad reviews and were somewhat worried but it was excellent in every respect, staff friendly, rooms delightful, food outstanding and peaceful grounds. Would be a good place for several nights. So thank you again for the routes and we look forward to the next visit…

"The route took us through many interesting and scenic areas"

....We were very pleased with our bike tour.  The route took us through so many interesting and scenic areas that we would not have seen any other way.  The hotels were mostly very good.  We were surprised (disappointed) that the Best Western in Zandvoort put all 3 of us in one small room and did not give us anything to compensate us for our inconvenience.  We had a few difficulties finding the signs for the bike path in the cities but managed to find our way with a little help from friendly Dutch people. If we were to go again we might use a GPS.  The detours we took were interesting. The breakfasts at each of the hotels were amazing.  I have had several people ask for details about our trip because they are interested in a bike tour.  I will definitely recommend booking with Dutch Bike Tours...

"The bike tour was fantastic"

...I had a wonderful time. My top 3 suggestions would be to: 1.) have a hotel closer to city centre at Dordecht (the current one is too far away from the city centre for restaurants for dinner after a long day of riding); 2.) have a lighter bike; 3.) provide a water bottle (may run out of water out in the countryside in the middle of the ride at the end of a long day!). The top 2 things I appreciated with the tour were that: 1.) the maps and directions were clear to follow (I had the GPS, but on starting a trip, it was always easier to look at the map and junction numbers as the GPS was always confused at the very beginning); 2.) great plan of the sights and cities to see, especially day 2 with Utrecht, and day 3 with Gouda and Kinderdijk.

"We had a lovely time"

...We had a lovely time thank you. We enjoyed the cycling and the hotel. It was very nice and friendly and obliging staff. Our bikes were fine. Just to let u know as a feedback and not a criticism: One bike, Gear 1 was not working , although the terrain is so flat mostly , we did not need it. One bike had no water bottle holder. Everything else was very good and we hope to use it again next time we plan our cycling holiday...
